ODEX has announced the updated release dates for Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- the Movie: Mugen Train in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar.
Singapore will release the movie exclusively in Golden Village Cinemas. The NC16 uncut version will have its first fan screening on November 7. The general release date is set on November 12, and the Japan Import fan’s screening is on December 19. The PG13 censored version is yet to be confirmed, but the tentative time frame is around February 2021.
In Malaysia, Golden Screen Cinemas will screen the movie exclusively, with the fan screening to be set on December 5. The general release date is set on December 10, while the Japan Import fan’s screening is scheduled for January 1, 2021. Discussions to release fan screenings are ongoing for Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor Bahru.
Brunei will have a general release on February 4, 2021. ODEX is currently in discussions with the cinemas for a fan screening in the country.
In Vietnam, the movie will be exclusively released in GALAXY Cinemas. More cinema locations will be announced closer to the film’s release date. The fan screening will be held on December 26 in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, while the general release is set for January 1, 2021.
In Indonesia, the movie will be released in CGV Cinemas with more locations to be announced. Cinemas in discussions to screen the movie include Cinépolis Cinemas, New Star Cinemas, Platinum Cinemas, FLIX Cinemas, Lotte Cinemas, and Kota Cinemas. The fan screening is set for December 19 this year, while the general release is in January 2021. The additional locations will be announced closer to the movie’s release date.
In the Philippines, the movie is being released exclusively in SM Cinemas. The fan screening on November 28 will be at SM Bacoor, SM Masinag, and SM San Mateo, while the general release is set for February 2021.
For Myanmar, Mega Ace and JCGV Cinemas will screen the movie. The fan screening will be held in January 2021, while the general release is in February 2021. There may be potential schedule changes as cinemas in Myanmar are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
